Dr. Saigel

Becky got Saigel a doctor's kit for Christmas. Needless to say, she loves it!! She's been doctoring all of her baby dolls and her daddy & me for days! Isn't she a little doll in her lab coat and mask?

Red Neck Christmas Parade

Last Saturday we took Addison, Riley & Saigel to the Mayflower parade, and experienced a real Red Neck Christmas Parade. Complete with lawnmower floats, a car driving with a reindeer strapped to the top and hunters walking beside (don't worry, it wasn't Rudolf), and Santa's sleigh being pulled by Harley's. Below are some of the pictures. Saigel's picture with Santa will be posted later (as soon as we photo shop out the cigarette smoking lady in the background!!)

Enjoy!

Last week we went Memphis to do some last minute Christmas shopping with our friends Todd & Paige. Little did we know that we would soon be adopting a new family pet. I knew I was in trouble when Cindy spotted the large display in the middle of the mall selling Sugar Gliders. She has wanted one for about 10 years. She was able to withstand the temptation...well at least for a day. The next evening we where driving back to Memphis to pick up our new pet. You may be asking,"what in the world is a Sugar Glider?". I could give you all the info, but you would be better off to check out the pictures below of this cute little critter. Our new pet's name is Daisy, and Saigel has already become quite attached. She has been reading books to Daisy, and making sure that we take good care of her. Daisy stays with us a lot (usually in a pouch around Cindy's neck). She is getting more comfortable with us every day, and hopefully will enjoy her new home as much as we are enjoying her.

A Day At The Circus

Today we went to Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey's Circus with our friends the West's and the Herring's. We have been looking forward to this for weeks. Saigel especially has been thinking about the animals that she might see at the circus. Thankfully we saw the two she spoke of the most: the elephants, and the lions (actually tigers, but despite our telling her that, she insists she saw lions). Saigel also had her first experience with Cotton Candy. It took a while to convince her it was ok to eat, but after her first taste she was definately hooked. The only downfall that she saw to the cotton candy was the mess it left on her fingers. We left the circus with sticky hands, a giant circus coloring book, and a lot of great memories.

Playing in the leaves

Just thought I'd post a few pics of Saigel playing in the leaves and "walking" her dog! There are still tons of leaves on the trees, so I'm sure there will be many more days like this one in our future! I can't wait!!

Our Halloween Party

We had a few of our friends over for a Halloween party on Halloween night. We've always wanted to do this, but this is the first year that everything worked out. Even most of the adults dressed up and we had a blast. I went as a Saloon girl and Doug was an old west bar tender. We had two cowboys, a pimp, a basket of laundry, a lollypop kid and lots more!! Doug and I love Halloween, and we really enjoyed getting the house all decked out for the party. We hope to make this an annual event around our house.

Fall Festival

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the Fall Festival at our church. Saigel was a scarecrow (I made this costume a couple of years ago for Addison and Riley and they let us borrow it for Saigel to wear this year). She had a great time and she loved dancing with the big bear.

Helping Daddy In The Yard

These pictures were taken earlier this summer. Doug spent most of his free time working on the drainage ditches around our property, and Saigel liked to help every chance she got. Of course, she had to accessorize with the pink hat!!

Picking Apples

Today we took Saigel to an apple orchard. We had so much fun!! Doug's parents were down and able to go with us. As we were getting ready to leave the house to go to the orchard, she didn't understand the concept of apple "picking", so she just kept saying we were going to "eat" apples. I'm wondering what she thought of us getting her all dressed up just to go eat apples?
I had to post these pictures as soon as we got home. The dress was one my sister had bought her last year that was a little too big, so we saved it till now, and I'm so glad we did.
It was a great day, and Saigel picked a whole bag of apples all by herself!! At first she dropped every one she picked, but it didn't take her long to get the hang of holding on tight as she was pulling them off the tree. Of course, she had to take a bite of the one her PawPaw had peeled for her after every time she picked one (picking apples really takes it out of you after all!!) Enjoy the pics!!

Catchin' Up

Sorry, it's been a little while since I've blogged. For those of you who don't know, I recently started my own jewelry business selling Premier Jewelry. I'm really excited about it, but it has been a lot of work starting out. I'll report more on how that's going later!! I thought I better post a few of our most recent pictures. Below you will see that Doug has taught Saigel how to make a funny face for the camera. You'll also see some pics from when my parents came down to visit last weekend. Saigel had a blast with them! She loves her MeMaw & PawPee!!

Best Friends

Saigel and Dalton are best friends. These two are so cute together! They act like brother and sister. They can fight at times, but at the end of the day they can barely stand to be apart.

Potty Training

Yes, we are finally trying the "potty training thing". I was working from home last Thursday and decided there was no better time. So far she has been doing pretty well as long as she can use her potty chair. She has no desire to try on the 'big potty' though. I think she likes the idea of having her own potty, so we may have trouble making the transition from potty to toilet.

She was adorable the first time she went on her potty chair!! I don't think I've ever seen her so excited. She was actually shaking when she got her sticker to put on her poster in the bathroom! Of course, she had to make her phone calls to tell everyone what a big girl she was.

We are so proud of her! Like just about everything else we ask her to do, she is happy to give it a try and is a fast learner.
